PANCAKE DAY

The Wooster Township Fire Department in conjunction with the Westwood Ruritans held our first annual Pancake Day in 1986. The proceeds were to benefit the fire department so that we could buy much needed equipment. The attendance for that year was just over 300 people.

To this date, W.T.F.D. and the Westwood Ruritans continue to host a Pancake Day once a year on the first Saturday in March at Triway High School. All of the proceeds continue to support the Wooster Township Fire Department. Pancake Day is the only fundraiser W.T.F.D. hosts each year. We currently serve approximately 2,500 people annually at this event.

With the continued support of residents and businesses in our community, Pancake Day has become a great success. W.T.F.D. has been able to purchase equipment such as hydraulic rescue equipment, airbags, heart monitors, gas monitors, smoke alarms, self contained breathing apparatus and training aids.

W.T.F.D. and the Westwood Ruritans plan to continue hosting Pancake Day for many years to come so that we can continue to provide the best service possible to the citizens of our community.
