Student Volunteer Program

The Wooster Township Fire Department Student Volunteer Program provides an opportunity for OSU/ATI or College of Wooster students, who are currently affiliated with a department, to continue their involvement in the fire service or emergency medical services while attending classes at the Wooster Campus

Student volunteers become crew members on a department duty crew and serve weekly shifts. During the duty time, student volunteers will respond to emergency situations, along with department personnel, for which they are trained. Student volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in monthly department training activities.

Participation Requirements:

  • Prior affiliation with a Fire Department or Emergency Medical Service
  • Maintain 2.0 GPA
  • General Health Exam-provided by the department
  • Successful completion of the department physical performance test

If interested in the program, contact: Chief Mark DelPropost or Captain Chris Shook (program coordinator)
